This BMW R75/5 has been equipped with a Corbin Gunfighter seat, ‘euro’ style low handle bars and stripped of extraneous reflectors and such to turn it into a ‘cafe racer’ style bike. I have retained the turn signals for convenience and safety which could be removed to add to the ‘cafe’ look. A standard double seat also comes with the bike, although I do not know if it is original.

This bike embodies the evolution of the /5 line, containing the most powerful engine equipped to /5s and being the long wheel base version that was only produced in the last months of the last year of /5 production. The LWB factory modification to the model extends the rear swing arm in order to improve handling and provide room for a larger battery without losing the kickstarter.

The four-stroke two cylinder horizontally opposed air cooled ‘Boxer’ engine is rightfully one of the most popular and identifiable motorcycle engines ever made. It gives the 750cc bike upwards of 50HP and 44 ft. lbs. of torque to take it from 0-60 in less than 6.4 seconds. The combination of the famed ‘Boxer’ engine, large Bing carburetors and battery ignition as well as a kickstarter make for a very reliable bike, even after all these years. The four speed gear box shifts smoothly with the dry single plate clutch.

This bike is a great daily driver and needs nothing in order to remain so. The tires are in good condition, fluids have been changed regularly, and everything works as it should.
