A custom built 1987 BMW K75 cafe racer with about 35k miles

This motorcycle is beautiful and runs like the day it came off the factory line. I am a motorcycle mechanic by trade and I’ve given this motorcycle a complete service. It has zero issues. No leaks. No noises. No issues. The motor is extremely strong and runs perfectly. If you don’t know the K75, its arguably the smoothest and most well-balanced motor that bmw ever made. They are exceptionally fun to ride. The shifting is fast and smooth, and the clutch is easy and responsive.

The modifications are fairly simple. I trimmed and rewelded the rear frame by 12″ or so, and removed the rear cowl. I modified the original seat to fit the shorter frame and had professional upholstery business make me a custom seat for it using the original seatpan and foam. The stitching on the cover is exceptionally well done. I added a pair of 41mm clip-ons in place of the old bars and replaced the cabling with oem bmw cables to fit the lowered stance. I added a new set of Shinko 712’s, and they have less than 30 miles on them! Within the last 200 miles, I have lubed the splines, adjusted the valves, changed all the fluids, changed the plugs, cleaned the injectors, replaced the fuel pump, and replaced the brake pads. This motorcycle is ready for another 50k miles without needing anything.

I haven’t given it as much attention to it cosmetically as I have mechanically, but the photos are a pretty solid indicator of its condition. The tank has the original paint and it isnt perfect, so please refer to the photos. Overall it has a nice vintage patina though. The frame also has a few light scuffs that have been there since I bought it. has never been laid own or aanything like that. If you decided to paint the tank, this motorcycle would be a damn beauty. Definitely no major cosmetic issues, but its not a show bike either.

I’m trying to put my time towards some new projects, so its time to let her go. I hope the next owner will enjoy it as much as I have.
